A Dream Ending
David met Julie, a nurse from Durham City, on Newcastle’s Quayside, when he was visiting the City as part of a friend’s birthday celebrations.
Although it was along way to come for a birthday party, David, who was living in London at the time, said that it was well worth the effort. He was well impressed by the City and its nightlife; but he was even more impressed by Julie!
“On reflection, it was as though we were meant to meet,” said David. “I certainly did not want to leave for home when the celebrations were over.”
Despite the distances involved, their relationship blossomed in the months that followed; taking turns traveling alternate weekends to see each other.
They each had their own houses, but it soon became clear that they should find a new home in order to be together.
“We looked all over the Durham area, and then we visited Oaklands, which is really special,” says Julie. “It has everything we wanted and the people at Meadowcroft Homes stepped in to meet are requirements and make things that much easier. Whatever issues we had Meadowcroft sorted them out, providing part exchange facilities that enabled us to set up house together with the minimum of fuss.”
As Julie says, “Life is so much better now that we do not have all that traveling to see each other and David has settled in extremely well to the North East. We are very happy in our new home which was all made possible with the support we had from Meadowcroft.”
